ZMI recently launched its newest custom boat, a Z38. This Spencer Lincoln design is an updated and larger version of the Z36. The new boat, powered with a 600 HP Cummins QSC8.3, cruises at 18 knots and has a top speed of 23.
The new boat, named Radio Flyer, will have a shakedown on the Chesapeake during late June and early July, and will cruise to New England in August and September. Radio Flyer will be on display at TrawlerFest Baltimore, and at the Annapolis Powerboat Show, both in October
Radio Flyer has extensive systems, built around a Mastervolt Masterbus electrical system, including a touch screen control panel. The electrical system has manual backups for critical systems. The generator is a Northern Lights 6kw. Navigation includes a Furuno NavNet system combined with Rosepoint Coastal Explorer run on a laptop.
Other systems include a Sea Recovery watermaker, Hurricane heat and hot water, 30,000 BTU Marine Air, and a Steelhead ES1000 crane. The navigation system included Rosepoint PC based plotter and a Furuno NavNet plotter and radar.
After spending a year on the east coast, Radio Flyer will be shipped to Seattle, and will then cruise to Alaska. For more information contact Steve Zimmerman, 800-397-3442.
