Alex grew up on Lake Angelus in Michigan sailing Sunfish, Lasers, Snipes, Lightnings, Hobie Cats, you name it. After spending time working with snow skiers in the mountains, he came back to the water over a decade ago. He has worked at boatyards in Maine, Florida, and Maryland before bringing his experience to us.
Alex lives in Gloucester County.
Adam, a California native, grew up sailing on San Francisco Bay. He taught sailing at San Diego State University and has owned and campaigned many boats. Adam has over 30,000 ocean miles racing and cruising on the west coast from Oregon to Zihuatanejo, Mexico. He comes to us from Svendsen’s Boat Works in the San Francisco Bay Area where he was the Boatyard Foreman.
Adam graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Economics. and now lives in Cobbs Creek, Virginia with his wife Heather and their two year old daughter.
Mike Grame grew up on Long Island, where he started working in the marine industry at the age of 15 as a yard worker at the marina where his family lived aboard a 44’ Gulfstar. He worked his way up the boatyard ladder, working as a technician at a large sailboat dealership in Huntington, NY and later as the service manager of a full service boatyard in the Hamptons
In 2005, Mike moved to Florida to become the Marina Manager and Test Center Supervisor for Bertram Yachts in Miami, where he oversaw all of the final assembly, commissioning and delivery of boats. He subsequently worked as the North American Service Manager for Vicem Yachts, and more recently as a Service Manager for Hinckley Yachts in Annapolis .
Mike graduated from Long Island University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, holds a 100 ton USCG Masters License, is an accredited marine surveyor and is ABYC certified .
Mike lives in Edgewater, MD with his wife and they have a baby boy on the way in the very near future.
Max Parker is a confirmed boat nut and loves just about everything involved with being on the water. He has been in the boating industry for over 15 years involved in all aspects of vessel repair. He has been with ZMI for over a decade working as a rigger, electrician, and systems tech. From cruising his Island Packet 26 with his family to delivering boats up and down the east coast, he rarely passes up a chance to test a boat.
Max graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Communications and lives in Deltaville with his wife and son along with lots of little boats.
Steve Zimmerman is the founder and President of Zimmerman Marine, Inc. Steve has logged several thousand miles on the water, including the entire East Coast from Canada to the Caribbean, the Pacific Northwest from Anacortes WA to Glacier Bay Alaska, and over forty trips between the Chesapeake and Long Island Sound. He has raced, cruised, and worked as a paid hand and captain.
Steve graduated from the University of Virginia and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. While in college Steve developed and directed a non-profit consumer protection agency which mediated complaints between consumers and merchants.
Steve lives in Hartfield, Virginia, with his wife Gwen.
